The Ever Green Heartthrob of Tamil – Telugu – Malayalam Cinema, the Kerala-born Mumbaikar,Nathiya was introduced to films by Fazil in Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu, Poove Poochoodava, the Tamil version of Nokketha Doorathu Kannum Nattu was her first Tamil film in which she played the role of an youngster whose time to spend in this beautiful world is limited due a deadly disease. She then worked with him in Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal. No film lover can forget Nadia’s astounding debut as the exuberant teenager oppositePadmini and Mohanlal. Until Nadia came into the picture riding a bicycle, with a smile on her face, a song on her lips and dressed nattily to boot. Cinema suddenly realized that middle class could also mean fun, cool clothes and loving families. And whatever she was on screen soon became the trend of the season - ranging from her clothes to accessories to hairdo. There was a huge audience for her costumes, hair styles and ornaments. There was no looking back for this chirpy, smart, bubbly girl who went on to do films with top actors like Mammootty,Mohanlal and others. But soon she was lured by Tamil cinema. Nadia with her stylish look went on to become the symbol of the cosmopolitan middle-class girl.

She reigned over the hearts of Tamil movie-lovers with her school-girl looks and attractive demeanor. She along with actor Suresh formed a successful on screen pair with hit films like Pookalai Pareekatheergal, Unakkaagavae Vaazhgiraen, Poove Ilam Poove, Pavazha Malligai,Mangai oru gangai and Poo mazhai poliyudhu. Later Nadia went on to become one of the biggest heroines on the Southern screen mainly through Tamil films like Rajadhiraja, Chinna Thampi Periya Thampi, etc. She scorched the southern screens in mid Eighties and early Nineties with her remarkable performances. She acted with all the top stars including Rajinikanth and left films at the height of popularity. Nadia fell in love with Shirish Godbole during her Mumbai days when she had entered films. But after she became a successful actress the lovers decided to put off the marriage for a few years.
After marriage she quit acting as Shirish was based in US and she wanted to give more time to her family. Shirish is an investment banker with Morgan Stanley and they have two daughters Sanam and Sera. She bid bye to acting after her marriage. After about a decade she came back in Prabu’s 100th film, Rajakumaran. But, the film which really marked her comeback was with M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmiplaying Jayam Ravi’s mother and followed it up with a pivotal role in Vishal’s Thamirabarani. Her role of a powerful and confident mother in M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi won her many accolades. She played Sundar C’s mother-in-law in Sandai. For Nadia, it has been long journey-19 years since Poovae Poo Choodava, years have passed but still she looks the same charming beautiful and enchanting actress.
