Silk Smitha Biography
Silk Smitha was born as Vijayalakshmi on December 2, 1960 in Eluru, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, India.
MOVIES:-
Silk Smitha appeared in a Tamil film, Vandi Chakkaram (1979), and after playing a character named Silk in this film, she was named the same.
She was known for her seductive looks after appearing in films like Moondru Mugam and Amaran. She played the role of a wife in Seethakoka Chilaka (1981) and one of her films, Layanam, was remade in Hindi as Reshma Ki Jawani. Moondram Pirai which saw her in the lead role was also remade in Hindi as Sadma starring Sridevi in the lead role.She acted in many hit movies in telugu like Yamakinkarudu,Khaidi,Challenge etc.
Her dance numbers and her bold performances in films like Moondru Mugam have made her the ultimate symbol of sensuality in Tamil, Kannada. Malayalam and Telugu cinema. Her item numbers in films like Amaran were also celebrated at the box office. Some film critics, historians and journalists have referred to her as a "soft porn" actress.
DEATH:
Silk Smitha was found dead in her apartment on Sept 23rd 1996. It is said that she was depressed due to some financial crisis and she was an alcoholic too. 
However some say a love failure made her to commit suicide. But Mr. Raja is keen that she was murdered and did not commit suicide. According to him many big wigs in the film industry exploited her sexually and in the meanwhile she fell in love with a man who rejected her socially. 
This caused the death of Silk Smita it is reported that there are many shocks in her biography which will be released shortly.
